6 BB/100 at .5/1 is Sustainable: True or False?
Maybe I'm just running good lately, but I'm at 3.9BB/100 over my last 14k hands at .5/1. (probably around 3 BB/100 over 45k (not sure, lost database.)) During this last stretch, I've been played mostly at only 1 table (while doing other stuff on the side), and some 2 tables while fully concentrating on them. Very little 3 tabling. (I don't even try to 4 table. I can't keep up, especially since I like to play around 27-30VPIP.) I catch myself making quite a few mistakes. I think that if I played a little better, I could reach 5BB/100. By the time I really play pretty good, I don't think an average of 6BB/100 is out of the question.
I think 5 to 6BB/100 is a lofty but realistic goal for .5/1, assuming one didn't move up in limits before they got there. Agree? Disagree? Thoughts? |

I think it's perfecly reasonable for a very good 1-2 tabler.

It's absolutely realistic if you are the best player at your table at all times.
Negreanu said his hourly rate back in the day was $46 playing 10/20 live up in Canada. Which is probably equivalent to like 6BB/100 hands, right? |

TomBrooks =! Daniel Negreanu [/ QUOTE ] Absolute skill is irrelevant. I would contend that I might be a better player vs the average 0.50/1.00 player than DN was AT THE TIME he played 10/20 in good ole Canada. I played 0.50/1.00 for about 25k hands when I moved from 4 to 8 tables, and beat it for over 5/100. Though I could have easily run pretty well. I would say that 5/6 BB/100 is not unthinkable for a 1 tabler, no. But... anyone who beats that game for 6 BB at one table is lame, because they could be multitabling and moving up for more money. |

Shouldn't you be reading the SMALL STAKES forum?
Also, I didn't imply absolute skill was relevant, although it may have appeared that way. |

46/20 is a little more than 2. His rate I believe was more like 76 or 86 per hour playing 10/20. But yes at .5/1 6BB is sustainable if you use good table selection methods.

46/20 is a little more than 2. [/ QUOTE ] Keep in mind that you see like 35 hands / hour live. (Im not sure of the typical estimate, but I think that is ballpark) [ QUOTE ] His rate I believe was more like 76 or 86 per hour playing 10/20. [/ QUOTE ] $76/hour at 10/20 works out to about 11BB/100, and is absurd. |
