Empire wouldn\'t let me signup, what the hell?
Hey all. I just tried signing up for Empire, which I've never had an account at, so I could receive rakeback which I didn't have at Party. I did this at my uncles house on a clean computer which has never had anything poker on it at all. I used an email address that was brand new, and with a screenname that didn't resemble my Party Poker one at all. The pop-up box from Empire said that I already had an account, and to help prevent collusion, I couldn't sign up. From everything that I've read on 2+2 etc, I followed the necessary steps to avoid a situation like this. Can anyone give me an ideas how to get around this? I need rakeback badly. Thanks. 'Stosh

Wouldn't it make sense to ask your affiliate?

This most likely means that, unbeknownst to you, your uncle has been twelve-tabling the 30/60.

Re: Empire wouldn\'t let me signup, what the hell?
The exact same thing happened to me when I signed up for Empire. I proceeded to panic for a few minutes before I got the point.
During the signup process there was a glitch of some sort when I submitted my information. The Empire client waited a couple of minutes for a response from the server and eventually timed out. I forget exactly what the software displayed, but the gist was 'server failure, try again'. Stuff like that happens all the time on the Internet and I didn't give it another thought. I repeated the process and this time the response was quick. I got the same horrible 'you already have an account' message you did. Probably you can guess what really happened. My first attempt to setup an account actually succeeded. What failed was the success notification from the server back to the Empire client. I really did have an existing account because I had created one five minutes earlier. All I had to do was log in to my account and all was well. I don't know if you have the same situation but it is easy to check. Try to log in using the account name and password that you think you failed to create. |

The exact thing happened to me when I signed up in the past couple of weeks. Definitely try logging on with the account name and password you tried and see what happens.

So what happens if down the road they jack your account and say you did some sneaky stuff and you don't get your cash? I want to sign up for both but am very hesitant.
