Gutsy or stupid? 55 overpair and OESD
What do you like my line here? This is the very first hand of the sng, and I haven't encountered villain before.
I've made some comments in the hh as to my thoughts. Spot anything wrong? NL Hold'em $100 Buy-in + $9 Entry Fee Level:1 Blinds(10/15) Table Table 35041 (Real Money) Seat 3 is the button Total number of players : 10 Seat 1: henniemeijer ( $1000 ) Seat 2: Pelopidas ( $1000 ) Seat 3: rbrox ( $1000 ) Seat 4: Skooma ( $1000 ) Seat 5: Tao_Jones ( $1000 ) Seat 6: rmistereee ( $1000 ) Seat 8: pokerking883 ( $1000 ) Seat 9: henkk234 ( $1000 ) Seat 10: KROLPIKOWY ( $1000 ) Seat 7: yggse408 ( $1000 ) Trny:12269257 Level:1 Blinds(10/15) ** Dealing down cards ** Dealt to yggse408 [ 5d 5s ] rmistereee folds. yggse408 calls [15]. pokerking883 calls [15]. henkk234 folds. KROLPIKOWY folds. henniemeijer folds. Pelopidas folds. rbrox folds. Skooma calls [5]. Tao_Jones raises [45]. << great, he's giving me implied! A bit fishy, he might want to raise more normally since he's out of position, but then I haven't played him before. yggse408 calls [45]. pokerking883 calls [45]. Skooma calls [45]. ** Dealing Flop ** [ 2h, 4s, 3h ] Skooma checks. Tao_Jones bets [225]. <<A pretty big bet. Really smells Ace with a king or queen imo. yggse408 calls [225]. << if I'm correct he only has 3outs, but 7 cards will scare me. Not that bad, I'll call and see what happens. pokerking883 folds. Skooma folds. ** Dealing Turn ** [ 3d ] << gives me two more outs. Tao_Jones checks. << great, he doesn't have anything yggse408 bets [350]. << kind of weakish bet Tao_Jones is all-In [715] << he's representing an overpair, but it just doesn't make sense, there's something fishy here yggse408 is all-In [365] << unfoldable with ten outs and a weird betting pattern from villain ** Dealing River ** [ 8c ] yggse408 shows [ 5d, 5s ] two pairs, fives and threes. Now, how do you rate me? Is this distinctly +ev, breakeven or distinctly -ev? |

Re: Gutsy or stupid? 55 overpair and OESD
I'm folding when Tao raises 245...I mean, it's the first hand, you haven't lost much, you're risking this tournament already...if Tao is a fish, you'll get him later when you're holding something better.
It's just too soon, and you're not giving yourself a chance to see what else this tournament may hold for you...patience is a virtue that can be profitable if used at the right times....IMHO, of course. |
