I've been playing for a few years now, mostly $4-$8 Limit and $100 buy-in, $1/$2 No Limit and tend to do fairly well, usually coming out ahead. (all online mind you) I'm going to Vegas next week for the first time and staying at the Las Vegas Hilton, which i hear is very near the strip. Can anyone recommend some good places to play while i'm there for the type of games i'm used to? I definitely don't want anything TOO intimidating for my first time. Thanks!

Bellagio $4/$8 should be fine. It's filled with retards.

The Sahara is a short monorail ride away (or fairly short walk if you're in the mood) and has a decent enough room. Not high class by any stretch, but well run with the usual fishy lineup.
Their 4-8 is spread limit rather than fixed, and they have 1-2 NL as well. Martin |

Most of the cardrooms spread miniblind 4/8 games that are well stocked with touristy types whose sole poker education is the WPT and playing Follow the Queen with their buddies. No need to feel intimidated. Simply fold 50% of your hands and you will be the tightest at the table (not that anyone will notice).
ENJOY! -Milo |

Thanks for the info! Does the Hilton even have a poker room?? From their website it sounds like it doesn't...
Also, which Casino's are considered "tough" games or does such a thing not exist at my limits? |

The Hilton does not have a poker room. I would recommend taking the monorail to the MGM they have a great room for the games you are seeking.

if you want to play the lowest limits, go to the palms because they have high hand jackpots. ie if you make a straight flush you could get anywhere from $300 to $600 just for playing there, plus, the blind are half blinds and it's a cool atmosphere if you are a tourist playing for fun.
