I think the biggest decision here is preflop. utg is a very solid tight player.
should I a) be raising him in this situation, and b) calling 2 more when it gets back to me? Considering I don't really ever limp/reraise preflop as nor do many other good players I know. I really wonder.
I honestly don't think we win this hand. You could try raising the flop and fold to a 3 bet or any aggression. I think unless we hit 2 pair on flop or a big draw we dump it, you say he's very solid so I would believe ONLY hands he's going to pull this player preflop with this amount of players is Ks or As. |

I have found it to be almost a necessity in some games. I realize you weren't 100% against this play, but you suggested that you basically never do it. I was hoping you could give me some insight as to why. |

[/ QUOTE ] Unless you have a maniac who is 100% raising preflop and you use this to your advantage. It just seems you lose by limping As or Ks preflop. By showing weakness of your hand can sometimes get you in some very hard situations postflop because people misjudge your hand. I also play a lot of 6-max and to me it's not worth it especially when the morons would call 2 cold anyway but not raise, and I don't care to go against a buttload of morons. |

I think you can fold the river, but you had odds for 2 pair the rest of the way.

I think when a really tough player limps under the gun there's a strong argument for limping behind with this hand.

I fold the river when I know I'll see the showdown, unless UTG+1 is a real loose calling station. Can't see us winning here often enough otherwise.

Agree with this too. Simply seeing a showdown is worth a fraction of a bet too. And also, not revealing what you were playing in this manner might be worth a fraction of a bet too. When you raise two early limpers, amongst them one very solid, with KJs and several people left to act behind, you'd like to keep it your little dirty secret as often as you can.
