Was jesus real?

What are non-christian opinions about whether or not jesus was a real person.

What does it prove to say that Jesus was a real person. What matters is whether he was divine.

I think Jesus, Mohammed, Buddha and other ancient religious persons existed as real people, but that says nothing about whether they are divine or not, or even whether they were good people.

i really didnt have anything to prove. i was just thinking that jesus is a pretty famous person, and he has been for a pretty long time. I am non religious, and im unsure if jesus was real or not. So, just asking a question.

Relgion has been put in place by govts(or people who want to be the govt.) over centuries to control the masses. If I say do this and dont do that youd say f off jerk but if I said GOD said do this dont do that you(people who belive in god) would do it. The trick is getting a good salesmen to pitch your idea. So Mohummad(sp) Jesus, etc. where nothing more then salesmen saleing the dream of a better life. In todays world they would be finical advisors at Citigroup or Charles Schwab.
