Hero on the Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
UTG+2 calls,MP3 calls,CO calls,HERO raises.Blinds fold, everyone else calls. FLOP: K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]10[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Checked to the CO who bets(the cutoff is a tight passive unimaginative player) Hero calls(I am not going to get anyone to fold a King here theres a chance the CO could be betting a 10 so I call and see if CO slows down on the turn.) Everyone else folds. TURN: K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]10[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]10[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] CO bets, Hero folds. Good fold? or should I have called down? Should I have raised the flop? |

I think you should have really raised the flop here. Obviously you're not getting anyone to fold a K, but your forcing your opponents to define their hands more clearly. If you raised and were still faced with agression, I'd say you made a good fold, but you need to raise the flop there.

I think you're pretty much obligated to raise this guy on the flop. That lets you see how serious anyone else is that wants to stay on the flop as well as probes CO a bit.
If he 3-bets, call it and fold to a bet on the turn. If he just calls and checks to you, bet and fold to a checkraise. There are a lot of hands he could be betting with that you beat, especially on the flop. |

well i guess it depends on how passive (and how smart), but I could realistically see QJ, QQ, JJ, 99, 88, and possibly even something like AQ, AJ (people love their gutshots when they're on broadway!).

how about going for the cheap showdown?
raise the flop check the turn if possible and call a bet on the river. Maybe I'm giving the CO too much credit for being a tight passive because it was a chick. But she did show that she was a tight passive, I'm not just basing this on that she was a chick of course. |

I think it was a good fold. A tight/passive player betting on that flop usually means he has a K and I don't think I'd raise, either.

a tight/passive unimaginative player....why not just fold the flop? you're drawing to 2 outs if you think she has the K.
is there any chance she'd bet with the Ten? raise the flop then, but i'd still fold the turn. |

So I'm calling, letting Villian bet into me with a T or other junk. My plan would have been to check-call the turn as well, but I think I would muck it on the turn once the other T hits. Rich |
