Default Which pro do you think you can beat heads up??

If you had a Moneymaker like run in the WSOP and got to choose a poker pro to be up against heads up, with about even chip stacks, who would it be??

phil helmuth.

point 1, cos id go all in with most hands. i dont expect to outplay the guys so i will rely on luck. this means i could play anyone the same effectively.

point 2, i know id be loving doing it to helmuth. i dont really like him, so id love to see him squirm under the knowledge on every AK ive a 40% chance to win.

plus his blow up should the strategy work would be hillarious

This is a terrible strategy heads up. You will steal a bunch of small pots but eventually you will get called by a big pair.

your assuming small blinds.

also, like i said, i wont have weak hands all the time, and they need to wait till they have enough to take a stand.

perfect strategy, no. but im never going to outplay any of those pros heads up. my deficiancies need balancing out, and taking it to a level where 1 hand, and 1 mistake can make or break the player will be the best of the rest.

of the 'big name' pros who i think i could stand a chance outplaying, it'd prolly be phil laak. who has yet to show great skill beyond all the non-name good players.

id also like to take on dan harrington, itd be an honour to play against one of, if not the, greatest player of the last decade, but i would lose cos id want to play, instead of just push it.

as for vince, ive never had two accounts so i dont have first hand experience but i can think of several ways it can be done to have both accounts open at once.

do you not think all the pros on the list are damn good heads up.

there is no strategy to use against you if all of your moves are either all in or fold. even if they wait till they get a monster, and assuming you dont have either a bigger hand or folded it, even then youve still got a fair % to win.

im certainly not willing to see flops against anyone on that list. not even with vince/smoothcall.

Vince Lepore is not a "pro". He does not have much heads up playing experience. So beating him would not prove much.
