I have a friend who had laser eye surgery, he seems to like it, I don't know how much it costs but I think anywhere frome 500-1500 per eye. I've thought about getting this myself, but I can't stomach the thought of going thru the procedure. |

It means Laser-Assisted In-Situ Keratomileusis. There are variations on the procedure with slightly different names, like LASEK or ELASEK/epi-LASEK. |

Got it 3 years ago for $750/eye. It took about 6 months to completely stabilize(had a little "starburst" at night before that), but it is so worth it. The best is for trips where you don't have to lug around solution and contacts.
It's definitely worth it, although I've heard that there is a new procedure where they stick a permanent lens on top of your eyeball(less invasive) that is supposed to be better. DN |
