Has anyone here ever tried to make a hold \'em robot?
I wouldn't know the first thing about how to program one, but I don't feel that it would be impossible to create one that makes profitable decisions for fixed limit. You'd just have to program in every possible scenario and what action you'd take for it. Yes, it would take a while and you'd have to cover a lot of ground, but why wouldn't it work once you were done? I realize it wouldn't be able to make reads on other players, but you really don't need to do that to win on microlimit tables. Whenever I multi-table I barely have time to read people, so I often just bet as if every player were the same and I still come out on top. I can't be the first to think of this idea, so I'm assuming there's something I'm missing that would cause it not to work.

i think'd it'd work. but it would need to have a qualification in psycholgy. also, the human brain can pump out way more functions that a bot. but i guess at microlimit, that's not really that important.

Technically, I don't see many issues...the big thing is that the casinos are no doubt watching for things like that :-)

why would you admit you had made a winning bot? Low level poker is pretty basic. A lot of things like player reading would not be as hard (if I have datamined 10K hands that you have played I can get a pretty good read on your starting hand requirements. Similiar I will see if you bet flush draws or call with them, ...) as people make out. I wouldn't want to have to play 2/4K blinds with a program but in 3/6 I can definitely see a bot holding its own.
