My records show that I win at about 2bb/hr in live play. So anytime I'm at the table I consider myself having 'made/won/earned' money regardless of whether I finish up or down.

i think the subtleties of the psychological aspect of this poll, have not been made clear enough by me. i was just interested in people's approach to the game.
i WIN money playing blackjack.
i MAKE money playing poker
and i EARN money, through my job.
each one is slightly different in its connotations. thats how i see it anyways.....!

I think this was a good poll. I voted "made" for the same reason as the previous poster.

i like to think that i stole the money, or hustled. aka amassed, bamboozled, conned, swindled, abducted, heisted, pillaged, pirated, plundered, ransacked, seized, raided, robbed.

I consider 'won' to be a windfall, which I would associate with an activity with negative or zero expectation. Furthermore, I consider 'earned' to mean that what you got paid is what you deserved, hence some sort of job. That leaves made, which I interpreted as a sort of middle ground. I 'made' the money because I expected to gain money from playing poker, but the amount that I gained may not necessarily be directly in line with my expectations as to what I deserved.
