the history of internet poker

does anyone have any information or links about the history of online poker, i know planet was first but i'm a little sketchy as to info before or after that.

I think delta was first.

I remember playing paradise about 2001, when it was supposedly the biggest room (not sure, but I think it was) and there would be between 500-1000 players there depending on the time of day.

well, delta opened in 1998 to the general public, so planet must have been 97 or earlier in 1998.

Planet opened in 1998. Then Delta. Pretty sure Paradise was 1999 because I had never heard of them until after I started at Planet in Feb of 1999. Then came Highlands, Spot, Stars and more (my Stars account was originally funded with money won in beta test freerolls).

In one of my first posts on here I mention that I hadn't played at paradise yet and that would have been in late '98.

Edit - can't find that post but I've had my Paradise account since 2000 so it's quite a bit earlier than that.
