Good limit for online player making a foray into B&M
Currently beating party 5/10 full, what would be a good limit for me to try out for my first B&M experience? I've been meaning to initiate myself to live play for 6 months now but I haven't been able to pry myself away from the online rooms since getting my 2001fp. So what's equivalent to the party 5/10 full in the real world?

Re: Good limit for online player making a foray into B&M
You'll probably do fine at 20-40 or lower. But for your first live session ever maybe you should just play 5-10 like you do online.

[/ QUOTE ] Ditto second part, even if u have the skill for 20-40, the sums will intimidate you, as will the frequent 3 bets pre-flop.... Id reccomend maximum you play is 10-20 |

When I play online I play 5/10 or 3/6 limit, and I play 20/40 live.

What's funny about that is I multitable 10/20 and occasionally 15/30 online but I never play higher than 10/20 in a B&M...

Re: Good limit for online player making a foray into B&M
Play a limit your bankroll will allow. B&M cardrooms can take a while to get used to if all your used to playing is on-line. The action is much slower. Try not to put a target on your back that says "online player". Pay attention to how people handle the chips and don;t count them one at a time. Take your chips out of the rack! It will speed up the game tremendously. Throw the dealer a buck when you win a pot. I know it's hard to get used to at first but it won't kill you and it's + ev in the long run. Trust me. Another quick pointer. When you get dealt your cards make sure they're protected. Putting a chip on top of your cards is usually sufficiant. If your hand is fouled accidently by the dealer or another player mucking his hand in the wrong direction you have no recourse. You are responsable for protecting your hand. Period. B&M play is by far the best form of poker you can play. Post a report so we know what limits you decided and how you did. Most of all, have fun and play smart cards. You may give up the puter forever.
