Default Phil Laak - will this guy win something big or fade into bolivion?

I don't even need him to win, maybe just place in a tourney where he gets more than $100,000. He seems like he is getting more attention than he deserves.

10-Nov-04 Consolation Tournament
2004 Monte Carlo Millions, Monte Carlo 42nd $ 1,000

19-Sep-04 $ 10,000 No Limit Hold'em Final Day
2004 Borgata Poker Open - WPT, Atlantic City 19th $18,120

24-Feb-04 Main Event - No Limit Hold'em
2004 - WPT Invitational, Los Angeles 1st $ 100,000

15-Dec-03 $ 10,000 WPT No Limit Hold'em Championship
2003 Bellagio Five-Diamond World Poker Classic, Las Vegas

12th $ 34,917
01-Sep-03 $ 5,000 No Limit Hold'em Main Event - WPT
2003 Legends of Poker, Los Angeles 6th $ 54,075

Nov-02 $ 500 No Limit Hold'em
Uncle Louie, San Jose 1st $ 15,660

Yes, he is getting much more attention than he desreves. It is more for his outrageous behavior on tv than his actual ability. they even have him hosting the hollywood holdem show on E lol. It puts under his name at start of show "world champion" i think LOL!

i just caught my first episode of hollywood hold'em since it was on at 2am for some reason. it was the one at puddy from seinfeld's house. i know celebrity poker has to be a guilty pleasure for some poker players, but i don't think any poker players could appreciate this show. too much stuff going on. they might as well put "worldwide poker champion" under his name.

I must admit it is a guilty pleasure. Kinda. I don't like it either but its still poker so for some warped curiousity and humor i watch if no other poker is on. Could you imagine being in a real home game for cash with these people that have no idea how to play poker and could care less about money. I love the big 10k presentation. It is a daily allowance for most of these rich kids. It kinda makes it silly.

Agreed.

The smugness, the dumb plays. Everyone, including Phil's, trite chatter...I'll take root canal.

The OL part of LOL means "out loud." If you are just thinking it, it probably isn't out loud.

I've read where he is dating the buxom Jennifer Tilly. He's got that going for him!
