I think pushing here is a mistake, you are only going to get called by sets/two pair and fold other hands you want to come along.

If you are going to push, the flop may be a better place with two cards to come on your flush draw.

I should have made it more clear in my first post- I push, or at the very least reraise on the flop.

If I got to the turn without reraising the flop I would rather bet when the King came then check to the villan and I would get it all in if raised.

Yeah, I would agree with that, but what does hero do in the current situation? Folding seems weak, calling seems transparent, and raising means a push.

So wait, what hands do you want to come along? I think its pretty obvious that if he pushes and gets called, he needs to hit one of his draws to win.

The nut flush draw, KTs, J7s, Q7s, KQ, AQ. We're favorites or dead even against all these guys. Now, since I've never played NL, these hands might be very unlikely compared to exactly 77 and QJs. (Which we're 2:1 and 1.7:1 dogs against, respectively.)

But if we could already put MP2 on {77, QJs}, we should just fold the flop. I'm assuming we can't do that. Because we can't, my play is to re-raise to $400-$450.

Now if MP2 folds, yay that's good. If he doesn't, we have $500 left in front with a $900 pot, so that's pretty much that unless the turn is unspeakably bad (Jc maybe.)

How about folding pre-flop?

I really don't like reraising the flop unless I can get all my money in. All-in on the flop is a huge overbet, and reraising to $400 or so just puts me in a very sticky situation. If he goes all-in, I have to call, but I'm not ecstatic about it. If he just calls, I have to go allin on the turn when I don't hit which sucks. Some more comments on the flop line would be appreciated.

I still think calling the flop is best, but then maybe leading that turn? I think a case could be made for doing something different at pretty much every decision point in this hand.

Thanks for any comments.
