Someone asked what my cards were
I was playing 5/10 at Turning Stone (somewhat high limit since they only spread 10/20 and 20/40 higher than 5/10 at the time and most tables were 1-3 spread). Anyway, I was chatting up a storm, getting everyone relaxed and trying to get them to stop concentrating on cards so much. One of the quiet older males who I haven't really talked to asked me what I had after I took down a huge pot on the river without showing. Giving away my hand would be dumb...how do I pretend to be nice while saying "f off" at the same time?
Editted for spelling reasons. |

jacks. you had jacks. [/ QUOTE ] daryn is right. Amazing how often I have Jacks. If that doesnt work, then I always wink and slyly say "The Winning Hand". 95% of the time the questions will stop at that point, and you are still keeping a friendly table image. Re: Someone asked what my cards were
I think you should make up a name for a hand, say it straight like everyone should know what it means.
"I had a Jolly Roger." "Oh, I had Pocket Hippies." "My cards? Oh just a couple of Hubcaps." |
