Default snob dining question

So I was eating lunch with a friend in this little Italian restaurant in Beverly Hills this weekend. I ordered fish (Tilapia) and it was still raw in the middle of the thick part of the filet. I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be that way or if the cook fcked up. It tasted fine so I decided to not risk looking like a dildo by asking them to cook the thing all the way through.

Yes. If you're eating Tilapia in Beverly Hills that's the way it's supposed to be cooked.

If you're eating fish fry at Long John Silver I'd send it back.

It's a little known fact that the "tilapia" was formerly known as the slime fish. Someone discovered it tasted pretty good and was fairly abundant so they decided to make a market for it. The only thing holding it back was the name.

True story.

i think my 1600th post was the first time I just posted a quote from someone in the previous thread. i was making fun of all those pooh bah threads where people give shout outs to all those that helped me along the way, then Ray Zee bitch slapped me with baby powder.

I don't think having a rare inside is gonna pose any siginificant health risk. I prefer salmon and tuna rare in the middle.

On purely taste, I would never stick tilapia in my mouth cuz where i grew up, tilapia could be found in the dirtiest waters and would breed to take over their environment. Not to say the tilapia you ate was dirty, and was probably bred in a farm, but just to let you know, those motherfuckers are dirty.

thanks for the heads up. I'll reclassify Tilapia in the same class as carp. Not edible.
