Misplayed AA? I dont think so

Final Pot: 19.66 BB Results in white below: BB has 9s Td (three of a kind, tens). Hero has As Ac (full house, aces full of tens). MP3 has Ks Qd (straight, ace high). Outcome: Hero wins 19.66 BB. The guy that flopped broadway tore into me about how badly I misplayed my aces and several other table coaches chimed in as well. I disagree. I had been playing with these idiots for a while and I was fairly certain that they would have called anyway and I wanted to disguise my hand. I was just wondering how you guys felt about AA limping EP with several loose players behind, after you haven't played a hand in 3 orbits. From LP I'd raise just as would with any other position raise. Just curious what you guys thought. |

Re: Misplayed AA? I dont think so
I'll edit this. I have a better response. Limping in EP with aces is bad. If you are playing correctly preflop, you should be raising so many hands that they won't put you on aces everytime you raise. Let them think you have AQ, or something like that. Don't slow play aces against retards. |

Re: Misplayed AA? I dont think so
i don't think i would have limped with aces in that situation, but this is coming from someone who has aces cracked three times already today but much weaker hands after raising.

Re: Misplayed AA? I dont think so
He is right, you played it poorly. You missed two chances to get more money into the pot.

Yeah you messed this up pretty good. Still, the complaining of the other players sounds like sour grapes.

Re: Misplayed AA? I dont think so
I'll usually limp with aces only if the table has been aggressive enough that I think I'll probably get a chance to reraise. That said, if you've been at the table with a lot of the same guys long enough that you think they might have detected a pattern with your raises (assuming these are guys observant enough to do so), then it's not a terrible idea to mix it up once in a while. Certainly at least usually raising with aces is the thing to do though.
BTW, you'd probably get more responses if you post this in the Small Stakes Hold'em forum instead of here. |
