Re: BEST WPT ever?
Uhhhhh, not even close. I would go so far as to say this was easily one of the worst WPT events ever. When they were heads up there wasn't even 30 big blinds on the table. What the hell, this is a 10k buy in event and they got 30 big blinds to play with.
There was about one interesting hand in the whole tournament that is worth watching again. The only thing that made it interesting was Tony G. |

Had Sumar had a stronger hand and called, we would all be here talking about how dumb Tony G's play was. |

I enjoyed this one very much as well. I agree that shallower stacks make for worse poker but heck it made for pretty good tv.

[/ QUOTE ] Exactly because having a hand strong enough to call that with comes around all the time, right? Wrong, that was a brilliant play because it is very unlikely that Sumar has a hand that will be able to call. Results are meaningless, making the right play based on the circumstances is what it's all about. Tony G. outplayed Sumar plain and simple. JMO |

Re: BEST WPT ever?
I thought the play with the 63offsuit was more clever. He goaded him in to making a big bet by calling clock.

Re: BEST WPT ever?
Best ever, so far? WPT championship, 2nd season. Martin deKnijff's performance was virtually flawless. Among the best individual poker performances ever on TV.
