Default Dell 2005 FP vs. 2005 FPW

I was just wondering why most people on these boards talk about the FP and not the FPW. Is there some drawback to the wider screen that I don't know about?

Also, I was wondering if anyone can give me any input on the 2405 FPW. I can get one for around $1000, and I thought it might be worth the extra $500.

Any input is very much appreciated.

Yes, the widescreen has worse response and is more expensive.

The 2005fpw has a better response time and a better panel than the 2001fp. It's also the same price most of the time when coupons are around.

It's also less resolution, I was referring to the 2405 in my post.

You said "the widescreen"

They are both widescreen. You also refferred to the 2005 by "the widescreen" just a post later, not to mention you were answering a question asked about the 2005.

For the record, the 2405fpw has the same response time as the 2001fp, and a much much better panel.

99% positive that the 2001 is 16ms vs. 12ms for the 2405.

Maybe this is just a computer geek problem that I don't understand, but why does the widescreen create an overlap problem?

each poker table is ~800 * 600. To achieve no overlap, you would need a display of at least 1600 * 1200. While the widescreen monitor exceeds the required width, it is only 1050 pixels in height. This would cause vertical overlap.

Thanks Buster. If the 800 x 600 per table is the case, then the 2405 should be able to fit four tables easily (1900 x 1200).

Do you need any sort of additional video card to run either of these monitors? I just recently bought my computer, so it is still relatively new, although not top of the line.
