Empire memory leaks
I have never really suffered from these before, but for the last two days I have had to restart my computer after about every 150 hands due to the poker client crashing, or the graphics getting messed up or sometimes it just disappears off my desktop.
I have found shutting down one table, helps for a while, but it is jusy delaying the inevitable. I usually four table and am running a pentium 1GH with 512 Meg of memory. is anyone else suffering from this problem and if so what can we do ti fix it? I am thinking of reformating my HD and starting everything over again. please help..... Dink |

Re: Empire memory leaks
Have you checked for spyware and viruses? Updated windows? Defragmented your HDD? Uninstalled and reinstalled the actual poker client? Are there any other recent problems with your machine?
Formatting should be your last option. |

Re: Empire memory leaks
Checked for spyware and viruses wiht norton and spysweeper.. just before Christmas I had to reload windows, which I did over my current version and it seems to have affected a few things.
This problem has only happened in the last week or so. I will try defrag and reloading poker client. thanks for the help dink |

Re: Empire memory leaks
Wow..I'm not alone. I just responded to a similar thread below.
This has been happening to me daily for the past month. I wish someone knew what the heck is causing this. The only thing I have noticed is that running pokertracker, playerview and switching/scouting tables a lot makes this happen faster. Playing 1 or 2 tables with no other stuff it goes ok. let me know if find the answer! please. Also, i had 512 mem and bumped it to 1024 it did'nt stop the empire from garbling up. gl |

Re: Empire memory leaks
Happens to me when I 4-table Party, Empire and PokerNow. Intertops and Multipoker are fine for some reason.
I can't have any other programs running whilst I 4-table. Or else the client software crashes. When I'm bonuswhoring and try to check my raked hands cleared, Internet Explorer crashes my computer after about 1-2 hours of play. I run a PIII 500Mhz w/ 256MB of RAM. |

Re: Empire memory leaks
*** UPDATE ***
After the second empire garble up tonight, with the pop-up requesting a re-start, I decided to not re-start up Playerview but instead, give Gametime 1.41 a try. I am very pleased to say IT RAN FLAWLESSLY!!! I played exactly the same as always. 4 table, many opening and closing of tables, using Pokertracker, and not once did it slow or garble up asking for a re-start. I would highly recommend to anyone to try running Gametime and see what happens. good luck Oc |

Re: Empire memory leaks
I have never had this problem but have seen similar reports in the past due apparently to party/empire software's poor memory handling and resource hogging. You did not mention if you have a graphics card or integrated graphics, but you might try either installing a dedicated graphics card or more memory. Integrated graphics actually uses up part of regular memory and makes it even harder to run other programs at the same time.
