Default Limp-rerasing is lame (long-handed)

Who are these morons who think it's +EV to limp with monsters then re-raise when it comes back around? It's lame and it irritates me. Discuss...

Now /that/ was a healthy discussion... Thanks for the meaningful feedback. Hell of a contribution.

OK, I guess I should have said this:

Is there any good reason to limp-reraise in the average long-handed game?

Justify/explain your response. Isn't it just the best possible way to get them cracked?

Yes.

Do you see why?

OK,

on a more serious note; under the right table conditions, limping w/monsters is OK.

Example: last night, .5/1. After being on a tear, On a very passive table, I pick up AA UTG. I've been raising PF and winning several hands prior to this. I decide to limp, because I don't want to drive out all but the blinds out (like my last raise did)

I limp, and flop the the nut boat. check/call, call, call/raise help keep in 3 hands, allowing me to pick up 12BB...

Yes, I run the risk of being outdrawn by not raising PF, and not getting maximum equity, but realize I rarely do this. Maybe 10% of every great hand I get... There's a tension between winning the pot, and building the pot.

YMMV

Limp reraising is a risky move because you give the chance for others to see the flop cheaply when you have a preflop monster. However, limp-reraising is a great way to make others pay 3 bets or more to see the flop with a worse hand than yours. Only try it against LAG opponents in early position.
