I have trouble with pocket pairs....
Basically just wondering how I did on this hand. I am never quite sure what to do when a overcard falls, expecially in a situation like this. Any advice is welcome.

Re: I have trouble with pocket pairs....
I have trouble too so this may the wrong answer, but I'd fold to the flop raise here. Without reads, my basic rule is one overcard and a raise or two overcards and a bet and I fold. Get out early, save the ammuntion for when I have an advantage, not when I "might win."

Re: I have trouble with pocket pairs....
Fold to the turn raise.
Coupled with your PF raise, you tried representing an ace on the flop and were played back at. OK, fine. People will raise here with all sorts of stuff you can beat. But when the second ace hits on the turn and you're played back at again, the gig is clearly up. Your opponent has an ace. |

Re: I have trouble with pocket pairs....
The pot is huge when it comes back to you on the turn, if you knew you could 4 bet the river and both would call if a Q hit, you could take one off. You can't guarantee it though so a fold is probably best.
Definitely don't fold the flop, the implied odds are high. |
