Best original Nintendo game
I'm talking ORIGINAL 4-bit Nintendo, even before Super Nintendo.
I'll throw out a few classics for general consideration (ranked roughly by my enjoyment): 1. Blades of Steel 2. Final Fantasy 3. Ice Hockey (challenge anybody here to tell me why 1 fat guy, 1 skinny guy, and 2 medium guys wasn't the best combo) 4. NHL 94 (unsurpassed by any subsequent NHLs -- better than 93 b/c it had one-timers, better than 95 and later versions, b/c it still had fighting and blood) 5. Megaman 2 (anybody?) |

Dr. Mario. NT [/ QUOTE ] i could own you at dr mario, especially since you dont have a thumb. Cripple. Go get a 64 and buy the new version, we can compare scores then. I would go get an old nes, but they are too damn expensive. peace john nickle |

Re: Best original Nintendo game
I was undefeated at Dr. Mario for the entire time I owned that game... still have my old Gameboy somewhere, probably with the cartridge still in it. I don't know if the 64 version is different, if it adds in a bunch of lame extra stuff I'd be disappointed.

Re: Best original Nintendo game
eh, theres some backgrounds and charcters and stupid stuff, but game play is the same. While not undefeated, i did single handedly train a harem of people to be good enough to occasionally beat me, and even then there was only one chick who could win more than say, 5% of the time....BRING IT ON!!!!

Re: Best original Nintendo game
i didn't read all the posts but i did see some people bragging about their nhl 94 skills. i will rock anyone at 94 on the sega genesis. my snes skills aren't as refined at that game.
as for the original poster that game did not come out on NES. it was SNES. also the NES was 8-bit not 4-bit. as for my top 5 games for NES here goes 1) Zelda II: The Adventures of Link (my favourite game of all-time 2) Super Mario Bros. 3 3) Super Mario Bros. 1 4) Super Spike V'Ball 5) RC Pro AM on a side note: for those who think they are the best at NHL '94 I was lucky enough to go in an NHL 2004 tournament last year. i was cruising in the mall and saw at Electronics Boutique they had the EA Sports NHL 2004 World tournament. i signed up and went out and bought a PS2 to practice. my team ended up being Dallas. i only practiced for about 2 weeks and went into the tournament. the winner got a trip to Toronto, and the winner there got a trip to new york. unfortunately I lost in the 4th round to a score of 1-0 to a garbage goal. It was really hard to score in that game. any else go in this tournament? |

Re: Best original Nintendo game
First of all, nintendo was 8-bit. Second of all, Zelda was the best game ever. Third of all, in Ice Hockey, 4 fat guys is clearly the superior lineup and it is not even close. They knock over the skinny and medium guys and their shots are much harder. A good goalie can block almost any shot by a skinny or medium guy.

Re: Best original Nintendo game
The first zelda definitly rocked, however Zelda II blew chunks.
That being said, I am a huge mega man fan. Melch |

Re: Best original Nintendo game
4 fat guys were the worst combo. They never touched the puck b/c they were so slow. Opponent just passed and passed at will.
Fav party was the bench-clearing brawls, and at the end of it the ref would go into the scrum and get 2 players to put in the penalty box, and it was always suspenseful waiting to see who he pulled out cuz more often than not he'd somehow grab two guys on your team. doh! Agreed w/ RBI baseball, and my bad on excluding Zelda. |
