I was just curious how much typical players keep in the online poker account after cashing out, thanks.

Why not just have a bunch in neteller. That's what I do. Always 15k backup there and plenty of money that could be moved if I needed it. Why would you want to keep SO much onsite?

[/ QUOTE ] I agree--it seems risky to have that much in a poker site, and it seems like a waste not to be getting interest on the money. scrub |

[/ QUOTE ] I think that your reluctance to keep unecessarily large sums of money on a poker site is very reasonable. But is keeping it on neteller that much better? Aren't they also based outside the US (meaning that those of us in the US would have little legal recourse were they to abscond with our funds)? Don't they also not pay interest? I can see that keeping some of your money on neteller and some on Party (or wherever) could be a good hedge against something happening to one or the other, but is neteller really that much safer? This is an honest question and I don't mean to imply that they are not. |

If I take a big slide I'm willing to play a smaller game or fewer tables until I move money back from real bank accounts. scrub |

I like to have 1000 BB, though I am a bit shy of that right now. With less than 500 BB I would feel pretty uneasy.

These numbers are higher than I would have expected. I was thinking about 200BB or $6000 might be the typical answer, but I am only 2-tabling right now so that may be a factor. I probably should have asked how many tables people are playing in the original post.

I have 5k in my account playing party 15-30 exclusively. To add a question to the more experienced at this level: how significant, from your experience, is the risk of going broke with such a bankroll (175 BBs) assuming tight play (VPiP=15) and a win rate of $50 ish an hour (playing 3 tables)?
