Poker binge for 1 week or fly to australia with best friends.....

I have been presented with a bad predicament...one of my best friends really wants to go to australia to visit all of my other best friends who are studying aboard over there...so here are my options fly 24hrs in a play to get there stay with them and drink for 5 str8 days and go to the bars everynight, clubbing, etc...etc..also my friend is practially married to his girl and he said he would try to score with other girls in australia but would never do it in the states..his only been with this one girl and i would feel really bad saying i cant because i rather play poker at the borgata the whole week....the problem is it cost $1,400 to fly roundtrip and bar money..now i could do this even thou 48 hours in a play doesnt excite me at all...or i can play poker for that entire week at borgata and i loooovee poker...alott. also this will hurt my bankroll a great deal it will bring it from 4,000 to 2300 most likely...then i cant even have a bad session at my usual 2-5nl game without worrying...so my question to all you gamblers out there is what am i suppose to do....tell my best friend for 10 years basically im a degernerate and have to play poker which he would not even concieve and first response of course you can play poker anytime when teh hell are you gonna be able to visit your best friends in australia...again I really enjoy relaxing at the borgata playing cards...sitting in the sun...poss overated. What would you do with all the things ive said.

I'd make my own decision based on what you want to do. Let's see, you can trip with a jerkoff friend looking to cheat on his girlfriend, or enjoy yourself. I wouldn't trip so much about what your friend will think of you. You're a poker player - use deductive reasoning or whatever else you have up your sleeve and make a logical decision.

That is one miserably long plane flight dude. If you do not have a strong desire to visit Australia...then may the cards be with you...

The 13-hour flight from LA to Sydney is made much, much easier with our good friend Benadryl. That stuff'll knock you straight out. For whatever amount of time you do find yourself awake, you should be able to figure out something to do.

Screw poker. You don't get this chance very often. Head down under with your buddy (especially if his GF won't be there).

The flight isn't that bad. You sleep a lot of the way. I was quite surprise when I made the trip.

You can do both

We have poker in Australia. Melbourne's Crown Casino has a poker room which I'm sure will meet your standards.

Are the chances in australia to bring girls who live there and we meet at the bars very likely we're bring them home...i mean yeah if theres sex everywhere like amsterdam im there ...I can get beer here in the usa dont need to travel 48hrs in play for it...so I still havent decided.

Take a week off of playing poker. It will be good for you; your priorities are all screwed up.

Edit: Playing in Australia sounds like a great compromise - but the fact that this is a tough decission says something bad about 1 - your level of gambling addiction (FWIW I am also a gambling addict as are most posters here I presume) and 2 - the amount of value that you place on your longest friendships. You probably should just take that week off from the tables.

How often do you get a chance to get together with your best friends in a foreign country, drinking and having a great time. They won't be studying abroad forever. Trust me, the Borgata will still be there next year.
