ATo UTG in 6-max
What's your move and why?
I will give my thoughts on this hand later. |

Re: ATo UTG in 6-max
Fold - it's the type of hand that easily gets you into trouble, especially OOP.

Re: ATo UTG in 6-max
I'm not a 6-max player but I would raise. I think you are ahead of 5 other random hands the majority of the time.

Re: ATo UTG in 6-max
Player dependent. If I'm in there with a guy I've seen showing down A9-A2 then I'll be fairly comfortable. Against an unknown I would probably fold to a raise and check/fold the turn unimproved.

Re: ATo UTG in 6-max
This is another one of these hands where it is really no different from any two cards. If you get called, you know you are behind, so you only win when everyone folds. But then, it doesn't matter what your hand is.
You definitely can't limp it, because you can't call a raise. So you have to raise yourself. But if you raise and fire at the flop (hit or miss) and get called, you have to think you are behind. Your best flop is Txx, but still plenty of people will not re-raise JJ or QQ and how often do you see Txx flops anyways? And a Txx flop is pretty likely to hit someone who played a low pocket pair, too. Just dump that trash. |

Re: ATo UTG in 6-max
Unless you're playing at a table that is very loose (that is, people will call preflop raises and A9, and then pay off your ace), I probably fold this.

Re: ATo UTG in 6-max
You should have included "limp and/or raise" in your poll. I do a mix of both, and very rarely fold it preflop.

Re: ATo UTG in 6-max
Limping is bad and raising is worse IMO.
EDIT: Stakes matter a lot here too, I suppose. I am coming from a Party $100 perspective, and I am adamant |
