How did i play this hand? Too fast?
I went to the local casino tonight and played NL with $2 and $5 blinds. Middle position player opens the betting for $40 and 2 players call to me in the small blind. I have AK suited and just call. $165 in the pot when the flop comes AK2 with 2 spades. I check and the raiser bets $40 and both players call back to me. There's $285 in the pot and I raise to $250 total and all 3 players fold. I think my preflop call was probably the "right" play, but I think maybe I should have made it $150 or $175 instead of $250. Thoughts? Thank you in advance for any constructive criticism. |

Re: How did i play this hand? Too fast?
Wrong forum for this, but now that you are here, to answer one needs to know how deep the mony was for you and each of the others in the pot. Offhand, if the money was shallow I would have moved in preflop and picked up the pot as you only had to worry about the original raiser. Even if you got called you wouldn't be in bad shape.

Everybody on the table had $500 or so, give or take.
