Random Fact of the Day
Olympus Mons, a volcano on the surface of Mars, is 14 miles tall.
Yet it would climbable (if you had a few months) because it's not very steep. Although its base is broader than the entire chain of Hawaiian islands. Can you even fathom that s[/i]hit? |

Re: Random Fact of the Day
Mars is a fascinating planet man. It has a lot of geological formations similar to Earth's. Also, there is evidence water may have existed at some point.
Oh yeah, there is that huge face on the planet as well as aliens and Arnold Schwarzenegger. |

Although its base is broader than the entire chain of Hawaiian islands. [/ QUOTE ] A better frame of reference... it's about the size of Arizona. Keep in mind, Mars is 1/3 the size of Earth. |

IIRC, that volcano is the largest in the solar system.

IIRC, that volcano is the largest in the solar system. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I believe this is true. It's crazy to think of something that tall though, bigger than 2 Everests. |

You're right; it's more like half the size.

You're right; it's more like half the size. [/ QUOTE ] Well, half the diameter, which makes it 1/4 the size. It has roughly the same amount of dry land, though. Take no offense - this is just my nit of the day. |

Can you even fathom that [censored]? [/ QUOTE ] Yes. 14 miles = 12,320 fathoms. |
