Default AKo nice size pot, no pair

Hey guys,

Here's the reads I had.

SB is: VPIP 33, PFR 13, Aggr around 1.
BB is: VPIP 32, PFR 9, Aggr around 1.5. He's stuck about 400 on this table and playing rather poorly. A few hands ago I had seen him make a bluff and almost got someone to lay down 2 pair. I wasn't really watching the hand, but I saw the showdown and some of the chatter that came after.

Anyways, on to the hand.

Hero is dealt A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] UTG.

5 handed 10/20 Party and skins.

Hero raises, fold, fold, SB calls, BB calls.

Flop comes 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

SB bets, BB calls, Hero raises, SB calls, BB 3-bets, Hero calls, SB calls

Turn J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

SB checks, BB bets, Hero raises, SB folds, BB calls.

River 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

BB bets, Hero calls.

Bleh, what do you think?

Edit- Sorry I guess the pot isn't huge so I changed my title, but its large for this situation I guess.

I think this is a pretty interesting and well played hand. Not sure I could raise the turn hoping the SB folds a 9 or whatever nonsense he has. I assume you won against Axd? I wonder if you still call a diamond river, although I assume you would.

I think the river call is OK getting @ 12-1 with someone who might be steaming a bit with a missed flush draw and trips on the board.

bump-

Is this hand really not that interesting? Do most people wuss out and not try to make this play and fold the turn or the flop or just call the flop, or what? I know normally I wuss out myself, but I felt like this was a great chance to try to force out a better hand. I'll post the results soon, but I was hoping for a few more comments.

I think you're nuts if you think you're going to fold out a better hand. Maybe 22. From what I know of the 10/20 game, at least.

IMO either you're calling down bravely against a tilty bluff, or you're spewing chips against someone who has a nine, and just ain't going to lay it down. But almost nobody lays down a pair on a 933 flop.

I think this is a very easy fold on the turn. The BB did the smooth-call reraise. That's almost always a monster. I expect the BB to have a 3 or 99. I think you're just wasting bets here.

I'm not sure I understand why you raised the flop. If it's for a free card I don't like it.

Just fold it on the flop.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the comments, I guess I see that this kind of play is no good. But don't you guys ever try to get creative or take a risk if you think it'll work??

SB said he folded A9 and BB ended up having A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] and MHIG. Both were swearing at me and the table broke up immediately after this hand. I had a read and went with it, I really dont see whats so bad about it aslong as I think SB will fold a better hand.

Man, this reminds me me of a Clarkmeister post a few months back where he was showing a freind hows to play 2/4. He raised the turn with a naked AK, putting the bettor on a flush draw, getting the weak made hand to fold. I can't for the life of me find it though.
