hm i raise this flop and play the turn the same, but check down the river. then take notes that mp1 plays weak post-flop with AK, AQ

fold PF.
raise the flop.

when the Ace comes, you no longer have the best hand. bet if you think SB/MP1 will fold a bigger PP here on the turn. if you do bet, just take a free showdown and get ready to muck.

To those who want to raise the flop: is the raise for value, or information? And what's your line if it's 3-bet?

Fold to the cap, or to the first raise?
I think I would 3 bet here with 99's, unless I have a read that he is tight.
So assuming you would also 3 bet with 99, do you fold for one more bet when he caps.
I agree I raise this flop, great flop for your hand.

if you 3-bet and he caps.. folding would be unbelievably terrible, even if he shows you AA... do you see why?

I agree, you then have odds to hit your set, right?
So I guess your argument was to fold to the first raise then. How close is it to a 3 bet, assuming unkown raiser?
I would think you would be 3 betting here pf, maybe I'm wrong.

I think you should raise this flop, your hand is too weak to play passively.

I also think you should check behind on the river without an appropriate read because you will only be called by worse hands and it is too unlikely they will fold an Ace or a lower pocket pair.

He can call with all the lower pairs he wants.

I do agree with the flop raise, immediately after this call I realized it. Checking behind the river seems ludicrous after he goes into check/call mode facing no aggression.
