Barry G wrote more than what Doyle B expected. Doyle B told Barry G that he could either put his material into SS2 or publish it himself. Instead of putting the material into SS2 Barry G decides to make it a new book. Barry G wanted to refuse Doyle B's request to write for his new book SS2 but Barry G felt that refusing him would be insulting - like refusing the Godfather. At least that is what I think Barry G wants us to think. so the motivigamation for publishing his own book is that it is higher EV than just simply putting it into someone else's book.

I wonder if this the same thing that happened with Johnny Chan. I had remembered early on that Chan was supposed to do a section in SS2, but now all its reduced to is a foreward.
Chan now has his own series of books set to come out apparently ... Play Like Johnny Chan!! OMG Reading some of the excerpts, I'd say I'd check it out personally. But then again, I'm a sucker for books.

According to Barry, the book will focus on poker's psychological aspects, especially those important to higher limit games. Therefore, Barry must intend to lace his work with misinformation, like how top player's drink heavily to control tilt. Or, better yet, perhaps he plans to give just enough information for players to reach his limit only so he can fleece them with what he's withheld. Muhahahahaha!

Perhaps he wants to share his insights into a game that has proven to be a great blessing for not only his family, but for all the good causes that he has helped through it...?
I mean, does EVERYTHING in life have to be about +EV and -EV? Sure, for many of us, we have to look at ways to make extra money as we are not millionaires ... but after a time, how much money can you have? Is there a limit? Why does anyone do anything?
For one of two reasons (or both), fear or desire. With this book Barry is looking for some public recognition of his skills and insight (desire) that maybe have not come his way as a cash game specialist and is worried about his "place in the game" (fear) - as his peers perceive it.
