Wow, I cant believe I am the 4th one out, very first hand. I have 23s on the bb, ep+2 and sb are in with me. Flop is 456. Boo ya. I check, ep bets the min, 20, i raise to 65, he calls. Turn is a beutiful ace, hopefully making his two pair or some other big hand. We go back and forth raising, getting all our chips into the pot, and he shows 87o. I still have no idea why he was playing this garbage, bah, oh well. GL all.

Default Thoughts on the hand that busted me

Read my previous post for the hand,

Does anyone think I could get away from this? I put him on the set, and definlaety didnt see him playing 87o from ep. Thoughts?

I always tread with caution when I make the south end of a straight. It would be hard to put him on the 78o but you have to at least consider that there's a bigger straight out there. Since this was the very first hand, a lot of people play it loose hoping to land that exact type of flop. 78s would have been a real possibility as the fish love their "small suited connectors" and early tourney is the best time to see flops cheap.

I don't think I would have laid it down but I would have kept the pot small by calling instead of re-raising.

My two cents, Steve

I just took my first decent pot.

15/30 Ac8c in MP. 2 limpers in front, I call, folded around to the blinds who complete and check. Flop comes As9dKd. Checked to UTG, who min-bets, UTG+1 calls, and I raise with a pot-sized bet. Blinds and UTG folds, and UTG+1 calls. I have no read on his play, but he has my stack covered by more than 1k.

Turn comes 3d, he checks, and I bet the pot, 780t, leaving me with just over 1500t. He thinks it over, taking half his clock time, and calls.

River is 6c, and he checks again. If he's on the flush draw I am obviously ahead. If he has an ace there's a good chance I'm ahead, but to bet this river means committing my stack and my future in this tournament. I check behind. Is this a weak play, or a reasonable caution?

Dammit, I fell asleep and missed it. Going to check you out though Anakinso as you seem to be "there" a lot lately. I watched you go out yesterday at the final table in the Saturday PM NLHE tourney. Man, you lost a lot of races in a row or you probably win it.

Might not be a good idea. I just went to sweat my friend Dave aka Baddog and he immediately lost a race where he was a slight favorite and got eliminated.
