Default Can anyone justify value betting here

Party 10/20 6 max.

Loose, but unpredictable, player limps UTG, I raise red jacks from MP, folded to semi-tight BB who calls, UTG calls.

Flop: 4d 5s 8d

Checked to me, I bet, both call.

Turn: Td (4d 5s 8d)

Checked to me, I bet, both call

River: 8c (Td 4d 5s 8d)

Checked to me, I check

Default Results

My hand was good. BB had QTo for top pair, and UTG had pocket sevens.

Did not look at results yet. Usually better to not post results immediately unless there's a specific reason to.

Anyway, easy value bet. You will almost always hear from somebody on the flop who flops top pair in 10/20 against a PFR. Almost always. Bet it and expect any pair to call, as well as ace-high quite often.

Checking the river is easily a .5-1BB error.

I agree. Very easy value bet. I think the better question is whether or not to call if you are check raised.

Insta-call. You've permission to close your eyes when you make the call though, if you wish.
