I agree with everything said here except for, "That'll work," and, "Tom Hanks should be good though." I'm a fan of Tom Hanks, but I really don't see him as this character. I just read the book last week, looked up possible plans for a movie on IMDB, and was disappointed to see this casting.

I also was thinking of Harrison Ford, but this is probably for two reasons. One, the book had a slight Indiana Jones feel to it, no to mention the fact that the character, Robert Langdon was also a college professor much like Ford's character in the IJ trio. The other reason being that the book actually described Langdon as being a bit like Harrison Ford. Anyways, Tom Hanks just doesn't work for me here, but whatever. It was a good book, and I'm sure with Ron Howard directing, it will be a good movie as well.

Is Tom Hanks good? I never watch movies with him in it. The only one I can think of that isn't at least 10 years old is Catch Me If You Can.

I had heard that it was gonna be Russel Crowe. I think he'd have been good. But Hanks is fantastic in everything, so I can't complain.

I don't see how this movie is going to be good. Books are always better than the movies, but this one in particular is going to have to leave out so much info to fit in into a couple hours....
