Is it bad manners to raise playing B&M?
Sorry if this post is a frequent question--I don't spend as much time in this forum as I should.
Playing live last night, which I have only done a few times, and I was amazed at how often the river was not raised/re-reraised when a player holds the nuts. This happened sveral times. Of course this was from people holding any face, connectors, etc. Also, this is a small casino where most of the players know each other. Were they just being social, is it bad manners, or are they just plain not good? In one pot (against me) a lady had a full house and she called me on the river (she checked the turn when she had the boat already!!)....what is up with that? |

Re: Is it bad manners to raise playing B&M?
It has nothing to do with manners and everything to do with playing horribly.
It sounds like it's typical loose passive low limit B&M play. Step up your aggression and you'll crush this game. KoW |

KowCiller...middle of the afternoon on a Wednesday. mmm... shouldn't you be workin???...does your boss and mother know about your addiction to poker?
Now to the poster...This is certainly not typical for low limit B&M. In fact typically LL B&M games are loose/aggr and is the type game you dream of being in no matter what the limits are. I'd go back there soon and as often as possible. KC |

I've noticed that small card rooms tend to produce a very passive game. Punish it.

It's not that they don't know they have the nuts. They are just more concerned with being everyone's friend at the table. You should not have that problem. To some people being accepted is more important than money, especially the elderly who no longer have a real need for money.

[/ QUOTE ] What I mean is they probably have lots of money after a lifetime of toiling for "The Man." That and they're going to die pretty soon anyway. |
