Note: SB appears typical, not overly tricky.

I still would have gone ahead and raised the turn in hand 1.
I don't play hand 2 that way, but I don't see a problem with it. Good follow through on the check-raise. |

It involves seeing a showdown, but god knows I suck.

[/ QUOTE ] It's been a week and MoreWineII's question hasn't been answered so I'm bumping it. I'm thinking check/call mode but I'd still like to see what the real players think. |

I really dislike the c/r attempt on hand 2. After raising the flop and betting when a high card hits, what would make you go into check/call or fold mode? My read on MP as a bluffer would have to be INCREDIBLY strong for me to expect this play to work. It screams c/r to me. Did you have any reads on BB at the time? That bet seemed unusual.

where's the phantom player on hand 2? i only count two of you on that river...
think your hand might be worth a raise on the turn. a worse ace might play this way, will almost certainly pay off the raise on the turn, and might pay off another on the river. in hand 2 i take it you were certain the turn wouldn't get checked through? assuming your read was accurate, no problem there... |

Hand 1 - I'd 3-bet the flop, but raising the turn is OK too. One raise on the flop should not make you go into check/call mode.
Hand 2 - As long as you're pretty sure that the turn will get bet, going for a checkraise is OK, but unless I'm against some aggros, I'm betting the turn. I would hate to have it checked through. |

Hand 1: Opponent showed down AKo. I was 50/50 on raising the turn once the low card paired, or on any other card really except the case Q. There are times when I called down with a probable best hand and regretted not raising, but those times are extremely few and far between.
Hand 2: The really bad, really loose, bluff-loving opponent that is MP3 called down with Ace-Two Offsuit. |

Interesting results. I am going to agree with bison on hand 1, where you should raise on the turn. There isn't much that can beat you, and 3-bet=pray for Q on river.
