$2/$5 NL.
I'm in the BB with JJ. Bunch of limpers, so I make it 40 to go. MP and CO call. Not much of a read, other than loose/bad; haven't played much with these guys before. Flop is J64r. I lead out for 40. Both call. Turn is the other J. I ($425) check, MP ($400) checks, CO ($150) goes all-in. What sequence of turn and river play gets the most of MP's money into the middle? |

think a while then call? there is nothing you can really do unless MP has a pretty big hand

Pushing your stack after CO goes all-in would most likely scare MP out...so obviously you smooth-call and hope he joins you. Assuming CO calls on the turn, I'd say you should push at the end to make it look like you're trying to steal the pot. Besides, the pot would be so big that pushing your remaining 300 into a 700 pot wouldn't seem extraordinary. IMO, a value bet on the river would be alright, but doesn't seem to have the same +EV as pushing.

Yeah, I "thought" for a while and called, MP called too, then I pushed on the river.
Unfortunately, MP folded. Problem is that both a value bet and the all-in look suspicious on the river. |

I thought about this, then I decided that folding faceup would have been superior.

unless mp has 66 or 44 i don't see how your gonna get any of his $ in. i ay just call, hope he calls and then make a crying bet on the end.

Explanation for checking the turn? [/ QUOTE ] I think his reasoning for checking the turn should be pretty obvious for you to figure out, even if you don't agree with it. Also I pretty much would have taken this line, not much you can do with the absolute nuts but hope somebody catches something. |

i would have checked this turn here as well. call the allin and how much to bet on the river depends on player descriptions.
