Just a X-mas gift type of thing for those who kids/husbands who like their video-game stuff AND like to play poker.
I don't see much of a threat to internet-poker from this.

On ESPN-WSOP coverage today I saw an ad for a similar product but it had a WPT logo or something like that.

Why would you buy that when you could just buy this primitive thing called a "deck of cards" for 99 cents instead?

99 cents for the deck, another $100 for the chips.
This looks like a fun way to speed up your home game and cut down on Jimmy shorting the pot.

Call me old fashioned but I'd prefer to be crooning over a stack of chips then punching numbers viciuosly on my poker remote control.

You're old fashioned.

I can think of nothing more depressing than going back to live play on a regular basis with dealers that can't work out the side-pot, drinks spilled on the table, cards with pieces of snot on them and chips that have been handled by thousands of people with a variety of diseases.

yes.

not for 50 quid though.

would speed up the little games in my student house a ton.

however ive invested in some (cheap nasty plastic AAAAH) wonderful litte chips and a couple decks of kem cards from games back home, so i can do without out one for now.

in fact in argos (family catalogue shop for you americans) you can buy a fairly good set of chips (actual clay chips form what ive heard) for 30 quid. the worrying thing is the suitable for ages 6+ label, but start em young i say.

That thing is pretty cool I play with my kids all the time and watching the shuffle is painful at best.

Chit phil. Don't play with plastic. You poor sodding student. Send me a pm with your address; I'll get stars to send you the pokerstars set. I have so many fpp's there that they'll be basically free. This is a one off; so absolutely noone else pm me or I'll tell you to f*ck off...I still want to keep plenty for the 10k sats to wpt events.

For americans, Anyone near a Costco store (and has or knows someone who has a costco card), they're selling a really nice looking poker set pretty cheap - 11.5g chips/cards/dice/case.
