QQ - Optimal spot for laydown
Paradise .5/1
Hero has QQ. 2 limpers, I raise, LP 3-bets, limpers call, I cap, everyone calls. Flop: A K 2 rainbow. check, check, I bet, LP raises, UTG calls 2 cold, EP folds, I call. Turn: 2. UTG checks, I check, LP bets, UTG calls, I fold. Perfect? |

Re: QQ - Optimal spot for laydown
I just might check/fold this flop. Your bet must be considered a bluff cause you really can't be ahead at this point. And because the pot is that large, you won't get an ace to fold. Neither a king. Or anything at all, really...
After your bet you get the odds to call in hope for a queen. Actually, you might have to call this flop even if you wouldn't have bet it. |

Re: QQ - Optimal spot for laydown
With 2 overcards on the flop, I sure wouldn't check-fold the flop. But I might bet-fold, depending on my read of the raiser and the size of the pot. Almost always you'll be drawing to two outs, so weather or not to call is a matter of pot odds.
Basically, good hand. That's the way I'd play it. |

Re: QQ - Optimal spot for laydown
I figured a bet fold on the flop was probably safe, but I called the extra SB somewhat for image.

Re: QQ - Optimal spot for laydown
Sorry, I wasn't advocating bet-fold in this exact spot. By my count, there were at least 22 SB in the pot when the raise came back to you, giving you 1:22 on a call. With what looks like a 2-outer, you would be right to bet-call in this spot on the flop, and check-fold the turn unimproved.

Re: QQ - Optimal spot for laydown
I'd consider myself fairly far behind here. The only hand you can expect you're ahead of is JJ and depending on the player, he may fold this to a bet on the flop. Bet/fold for me, if he raises I'd say he has you beat.

Re: QQ - Optimal spot for laydown
I would check-fold the flop, since there is reason to believe that even a Q won't always be good, and you will almost always be beaten in multiple places by players who will never fold.
