Did I get the most money possible out of this? Everyone kept raising and I didn't want anybody to fold...
Game was $3/$6 Hold 'Em on Pokerroom. Seat 1: ($256 in chips) Seat 2: ($124 in chips) Seat 3: ($135 in chips) Seat 4: ($126 in chips) Seat 5: ($168 in chips) Seat 6: ($149 in chips) Seat 7: ChipsAhoya [ 9C,9H ] ($120 in chips) Seat 8: ($90 in chips) Seat 9: ($235 in chips) PRE-FLOP UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, UTG +2 calls $3, MP1 calls $3, ChipsAhoya bets $6, CO folds, Button bets $9, SB calls $8, BB folds, UTG calls $6, UTG+2 $6, ChipsAhoya calls $3. Does anyone cap the family pot here? I didn't, figuring I wanted to check-raise the pre-flop raiser if I hit my 9... FLOP [board cards JC,9S,3D ] SB checks, UTG+2 bets $3, MP1 calls $3, ChipsAhoya calls $3, Button calls $3, SB folds. I just called here since the board wasn't scary, hoping the button would raise, but they didn't. TURN [board cards JC,9S,3D,JD ] UTG+2 bets $6, MP1 bets $12, ChipsAhoya calls $12, Button folds, UTG+2 calls $6. I didn't raise here because I figured I was ahead of any Jack and didn't want UTG +2 to fold. RIVER [board cards JC,9S,3D,JD,10C ] UTG+2 bets $6, MP1 calls $6, ChipsAhoya bets $12, UTG+2 calls $6, MP1 calls $6. I was slightly afraid of JT here, but I still got my raise in for the extra bets. SHOWDOWN in white: <font color="white"> ChipsAhoya shows ( 9C,9H ) UTG+2 shows cards ( KD,JH ) MP1 shows cards ( JS,7S ) ChipsAhoya wins $129. </font> I was just wondering if there was any way I could have played this better or if I did everything right... Thanks! |

i would raise the turn every time, looking to get excessive action from a Jack, and possibly a come along for the ride straight draw.
you basically got "rivered" because of the scare card, you see? cheers! |

Played fine pre flop.
Raise the flop when this many players are in. J9 is connected enough to discourage a slowplay and you will get action from overpairs and top pair. Raise the turn. It appears you are up against trip jacks so you should raise for value. AJ-TJ or less may cap your reraise. Good river raise, but I think you lost a lot of value by waiting till the river to raise. |

Don't slowplay. Period. Raise at every opportunity. It doesn't matter if you're facing everyone with two cold, they'll call, and they'll give you crazy action because you can't possibly have a set of 9s.

i dont think i would ever cap PF with 99, and i would def raise the turn, because you are going to get a ton of action from a jack.

I know others hate the flop slowplay, but I don't mind it as I do it all the time. You need to reraise the turn because any jack will payoff big for you.

Okay, I was wondering if I should raise the turn, I guess everybody would have called and folded that did anyway...
Thanks for the advice. |
