The best defense is, well, not playing T4s
PokerRoom 2/4 Hold'em (4 handed) converter
Preflop: Hero is BB with T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. UTG folds, Button raises, SB folds, Hero calls. Flop: (4.50 SB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, Button bets, Hero raises, Button calls. Turn: (4.25 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets, Button calls. River: (6.25 BB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, Button checks. Final Pot: 6.25 BB Main Pot: 6.25 BB, between Hero and Button. I'm really green to shorthanded $2/$4, and I'm often lost as to how liberally I should be calling out of the BB vs. a single raise coming from different positions. Any comments? I thought this could obviously be a steal, and getting 3.5:1 seemed to do put it over the edge, though T4 is a admittedly a very, very sketchy holding out of position. |

suited hands work better in multi-way pots, not short-handed. If you want to defend your blinds against a possible steal, you might re-raise pre-flop and lead the flop.
A lot of the time a stealer will get scared off if they didn't catch. |

The thing also is, I had no read, so I couldn't be confident it was a steal, I just knew it was a possibility. Plus, I figured against most legitimate raising hands, I'm not looking all that horrible, especially at 3.5 to 1. Course, something like QT, KT, or AT is going to hurt... I dunno, I'm so wishy washy when it comes to playing out of the blinds ;P |
