Ante size ???????????
I will soon be starting a $.75-1.50 1/2 hold em 1/2 7 stud home game and am trying to decide ante size. The game will be played with .25 and 1.00 chips. I figured the dealer will ante for everyone. For 6 players or less I was thinking the dealer would ante .50. With 7-8 players .75. Does this sound good? This won't apply to hold em because the hold em rounds will played with blinds. Thanks in advance. |

Re: Ante size ???????????
Sounds good, but be careful with those stakes, you could really do some damage. |

Re: Ante size ???????????
Plan on bumpin them up a little at a time. Just want to get the game well established to ensure it will last many years. Later plan is alternate this game with a small pot-limit hold em game, .25-.25 blinds or so. |

Re: Ante size ???????????
If you want to make the ante proportionally the same as it would be in a typical card room game, you should have a $.125 ante and a $.25 force. I'd have the dealer ante $.75 with six players and $1 with eight. Your proposed antes are fine as well. |
