Default $1/2 NL hand

Pokerstars $1/2 NL table, fairly standard late night game with mostly pretty solid players and a few mostly short-stacks giving away money.

Hero on button with $240
Villian UTG+1 with ~$170, havent seen him before, seems fairly solid
SS UTG+2 with ~$90, loose

Hero dealt KK

Villian raises to $8, SS calls.

Hero re-raises to $22. Villian and SS both call.

Flop is 9 7 4 rainbow. Villian bets out $20. SS raises allin (~$65). Hero calls. Villian calls.

Turn is Q. Villian bets $30. Hero calls.

River is J. Villian goes all-in ($55). Hero calls.

Comment on my play, I'm mostly concerned about turn/river, is it possible to fold there? Raise on flop? Raise on turn? I'll post result in a while.

How is it vulnerable? At that point I'm pretty much certain he has a medium pair, assuming he didnt flop a set. If he's drawing to 2 outs I WANT him to stay in.

I'm more concerned about the turn/river where the board cards that hit were the exact ones that would give the hands I put him on a set. Is the pot big enough at this point to make a crying call correct?

Sorry if this doesnt qualify as mid-stakes, I saw some other 1/2 NL hands in this forum and figured I was ok.

If you really think pushing all in will cause the villain to fold 1010/JJ/QQ on the flop, then don't do it.... but do you really think he would be folding this on the flop with all undercards and serious money already invested?

My guess is the villain had 99, and the other guy had a pair between that and KK and hit a higher set....

Villain was really betting it like he wanted to milk you, and only hand that that makes sense with is 99 or possibly AA.

Regardless of the turn and river the pot is so big that folding is really not much of an option. The pot is like 260 or so and villain has $85 left, so despite the fact that you hate the turn and river and are probably losing I think you have to call. If he does have TT-QQ I think its fairly clueless of him to have called the all-in on the flop after you CC'd, but whatever. After you both call the all-in from the short-stack, I think both players are effectively all-in. So he had Jacks or what?

He had queens.

In hindsight I think folding the turn was a valid option. It was pretty obviously a milking bet and theres not really anything he could be making it with other than queens (or MAYBE a smaller set, though I doubted he had flopped a set after he led out on the flop into a preflop reraiser.. either way I was beat).

Still, the pot odds were huge. Was a crying call in order?

Oh, and the shortstack had 74o to flop 2 rag pair... not that it really matters.

Its only an obvious fold if you see his cards, and double check them. You should have pushed on the turn.

Also, wrong forum.
