Re: Lou Krieger\'s non-sense cardplayer artical.
Yes, Krieger is just wrong here. I wonder if he actually plays online. Or he has terrible B&M game selection.

Re: Lou Krieger\'s non-sense cardplayer artical.
this same assertion is made by John vorheaus (sp?) in his "killer online poker" book. I've never played Royal Vegas, but I assume it falls within the range of other sites, where this is generally not the case. At the "lowest limits" perhaps there is some truth to this, as online sites offer micro games not found in B&M, but for even money it's just not true.

Re: Lou Krieger\'s non-sense cardplayer artical.
Well, I let my cousin play microlimits on my account and he sends me some transcripts for discussions. Invariably, the microlimit games are tighter and more aggressive than games up to 5-10 or so in B&M rooms.

Re: Lou Krieger\'s non-sense cardplayer artical.
[ QUOTE ]
here I dont know why he thinks online games are looser than games live. 3-6 to 6-12 live holdem is MUCH looser than games of the same limits online. [/ QUOTE ] agreed 100%. my home turf is garden city and bay 101. i play the 6/12, 8-16 and 20-40 about the same time at each. they average 5+ players per flop usually. 2 bets to see the turn doesn't limit the field much. online is usually 3-4 players per flop, and i've seen some of the tightest play surprising at the UB 1-2 tables. Lou is simply wrong. |

Re: Lou Krieger\'s non-sense cardplayer artical.
7 to 10 to a flop is extremely common in Commerce in L.A. Many games have everyone in and it's always capped preflop, for hours.

[/ QUOTE ] yup... and i got stuck in the 9-18 there one night behind the board when it was happening. i'm just saying that if you took a 50 hand sample from 20 different tables on 20 different days, the players/flop would be a little over 5 in the cali cardrooms. if you did the same thing online at the same limits, it would be much lower, probably a little less than 4. i've played significantly at both and it seems like an obvious fact. but lets look at card player... count the cost of the ads online casinos buy, and the cost of the B&M ads. if they tell their readers "the place to play is online...", then they are buying advertising insurance. i'm not saying they would lie to build ad revenues... but... yes i am |

Re: Lou Krieger\'s non-sense cardplayer artical.
Although my sample size is small, 5 players to the flop seems like the median number in AC HE limit games 6-12 and below. I've played in many games tighter, and many games looser... this is just a median number. And it's a pretty loose median number!
