Default bad commentators

Is anyone else so tired of the terrible commentary by vince van patton and norman chad, and all the other guys on wpt and world series? Theyre always talking about their ex wives or something, and never lend anything meaningful to the commentary.

I personally think they do a great job in reaching both the serious poker audience (me when I sit down), as well as the pker noob audience (me after six beers and two remaining). If lay people lost interest in the show that would be a big shame.

Norman Chad is fine. Vince Van Patten needs something stuck in his mouth and taped there.

I think they're both doing a fine job. Sometimes annoying but most of the times they're entertaining. Who would you replace either of them with? I mean you get rid of them and you try to hire someone else like them. They are the "color" commentators. At least on the WPT Mike Sexton is the expert guy. You don't fire the "color" guy and replace him with another expert. Although I think mike Sexton is a pretty entertaining expert.

I agree part of their schtick is what is keeping people coming back.

Poker tournaments are not that exciting to watch, when you aren't involved!

Vince and Mike are fine at what they do, I wouldn't swap em out, it's working...

Norman Chad needs a hooker... enuff said...

I agree with you...

I like Norman Chad and can't stand VVP...

I find Norman entertaining and Vince just annoying as hell.

Please man. Chad doesn't have the slightest understanding of pot odds, blinds, stack sizes etc. All he understands is the absolute value of hands.

In the TOC he called Greg Raymer's call of a re-raise with 98o a 'meltdown' even though the pot was laying him enormous odds. He continued to be bewildered by this concept throughout Raymer's final hands. He seemed to genuinely think Greg was steaming or something.

There was also an incident in one of the NLHE shows before the main. It's folded around to a short stack in the small blind who moves all-in with K7. The BB has K9 and busts him. Chad totally berates the guy, basically saying that K7 is such a bad hand you should never go all-in with it. Chad went really went off on the guy and he was totally wrong.

Very, very painful stuff to listen to.

I watched a WSOP episode again today, and man I hate Norman Chad. Fire that guy. He's not even funny. He's the worst poker commentator in the history of mankind. Hopefully FOX will buy the WSOP rights so I'll never have to listen to that guy again.
