Mythical river scenario
If this is blindingly, screamingly obvious to you, don't say anything yet. I want to see what range of responses I'll get.
Live 5/10 game. You hold 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] in the BB. Three people limp, you check, and the flop comes A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players) Checked around, and the turn is K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players) Checked around, and the river is 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players) But before betting begins on the river, Bill Gates drops 10 billion dollars into the pot by accident, and it's ruled in play. What's your river action? And why? |

Re: Mythical river scenario
I'm not sure if I should be replying or not, given the conditions...but here goes.
I would check. Hopefully everyone has sense enough to know that no one is going to fold, so we can just see who has the best hand. I wouldn't bet because I can't imagine anyone would fold, and see above. However, obviously I would call all bets/raises, as I have effectively infinite pot odds. |

Re: Mythical river scenario
Check-fold, unless your opponents are retarded enough to fold. You can't win a showdown against more than 1 opponent.

Is it too late to edit my answer? D'oh!!! I still wouldn't fold, though.

Re: Mythical river scenario
You can chop if you're only facing 2 opponents and they hold 22 and 32.
But against 3, there is mathematically no way you can win or tie at showdown. But I believe bluffing getting 2 billion to 1 would be worth it. Hey, they might fold! |

Re: Mythical river scenario
I don't know much about casino play, (just what I read here), but isn't there less than 1 in a billion chance that the hand would be voided somehow (maybe two players turning over a K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] , or some dealer mistake, a fire alarm, something!?), and have to be redealt?
If it did, would the billion stay in the pot or would it go back to Mr. Bill, who would hopefully put it back? Maybe it would be foolish, but I just can't imagine giving up with a billion at stake. |

Re: Mythical river scenario
Assuming getting a no showdown split isn't an option....
I be the maximum (not sure if this is limit or nl). If there is 1 chance in a BILLION (if this is limit) of folding the table betting here is +EV. |

Re: Mythical river scenario
Bet, check-raise, and raise again if there is another raiser. Win the pot if you can by representing a larger hand.

Re: Mythical river scenario
if this is a special olympics game, then bet as much as possible. otherwise, you can't win this pot. just give it up.
