5/10 NL on UB - JT on the JJ5 flop
7 handed 5/10 NL on UB. I have everyone at the table covered w/ a stack of $1619.
UTG folds. UTG+1 ($1124) limps. UTG+2 folds. I call w/ J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Button folds. SB ($263) calls. BB ($589) checks. Flop: 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (Pot: $40) SB bets $40. BB folds. UTG+1 minraises to $80. I call. SB calls. Turn: 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($280) SB checks. UTG+1 bets $280. What's my play here? If I call, what's my plan on the river? |

Re: 5/10 NL on UB - JT on the JJ5 flop
Please don't start a preflop debate. It's not like I'm calling a reraise with KTo. If my preflop play is -ev, it's only by a very small amount.

Re: 5/10 NL on UB - JT on the JJ5 flop
Whatever it's far far from a small mistake, TJo is awful as is TJs. It's always nice to think 'i'll play this hand for the straight value and bust someone on a broadway board' but then the flop comes K J x or J x x and you are stuck in shitty decisions with a shitty hand.
You aren't just costing yourself a small amount of money with this hand you are costing yourself a lot. So yea, now you got your perfect flop and you have to fold the turn. It's not even a easy fold either because i'd bet a good percentage of the time you are against a donkey who is overplaying his missedlimpreraise with AA KK but your effective odds suck and if you call the turn you can't fold the river. |

[ QUOTE ]
TJo is awful [/ QUOTE ] yeah, but it should be at least breakeven here if he plays it well. [ QUOTE ] as is TJs. [/ QUOTE ] anyone losing money with TJs in LP after one limper is playing way over their head, no? |

I just have a new found hate for suited connectors in NL. I very much disagree that this hand should be breakeven though.

Re: 5/10 NL on UB - JT on the JJ5 flop
It's +EV. Any hand could be +EV depending on the limper, against a lot of limpers i'd raise blind, some i'd call blind and bet every flop, some i'd fold a lot of hands for. Against an unknown i'm not thrilled with TJo.

"if you call the turn you can't fold the river."
why not? his pot odds would be good but his oppoennts betting would define his hand very well |
