KK hand, Ace on the flop
I think this is pretty routine. Comments or suggestions?

Re: KK hand, Ace on the flop
Seems reasonable. Would you also call down (ignoring the river check in this instance) with QQ on an AJx or Axx flop?

Yeah, pretty much the same unless I have some knowledge about the villain.

I raise the flop to see what he has.

Do you want a worse hand to fold? |

"I raise the flop to see what he has."
This never, ever works. |

So I should ignore Phil Hellmuth's advice of "raise to see where you're at?" [/ QUOTE ] If he says to raise anywhere along the line in a hand like this, then yes. (I haven't read his book, but from what I hear there's also probably plenty more in it you should be ignoring.) |

I raise the flop to see what he has. [/ QUOTE ] Calling down makes the most when you're ahead, and loses the least when you're behind, assuming you're going to showdown. If you raise him, he might not even call with his jack. You want him to bet the jack the whole way.. |
