Nice pick, since Sklansky's book is mainly for limit and doesn't discuss many specific aspects of no-limit holdem tournaments. Great pick.

I believe he was talking about TPFAP which is a book ABOUT NL holdem tournies. Don't be so quick to run your mouth next time when a poster is offering an opinion

Have you read TPFAP? It is about tournament poker in general and only slightly touches on NL tourneys.

"The system" maybe at a high buy-in event when the riff-raff is gone but try that in your local $50 weekly tourney and you'll be watching from the rail in no time.

Obviously you haven't read the book smart guy. It's mainly about limit. And it doesn't even get into specifics about how to play hold 'em. I suggest you read a book before running your mouth about it.

Ero and others,
I've read the book, I hope that doesn't make my comments qualify as "running my mouth."
The book TPFAP is about tournament poker and the adjustments that a winning cash game player should realize that he will have to make to be successful at tournaments.
It does not teach you to play holdem. It is very forthcoming about that fact. It assumes you know how to play holdem, and the mechanics of the game.
The system is not what the book is actually about. It is just included in the book.
As for actual books teaching how to play NL, as opposed to NL tournaments, what I've been hearing lately is that the McEvoy Cloutier book is pretty good, and has good tournament play included.

If and when I actually read something that I think is good, BESIDES TPFAP WHICH I THINK IS QUITE GOOD, I'll make glaring posts to that effect.

Eh, there's not much out there exclusive to NLHE. However, Dan Harrington's book will be coming out pretty soon with Fossilman's later. Probably more info on when those are coming out on the books forum.
